“Integrated Photonics for Next Generation Technologies” (INGEN2023)
EPFL organized a conference on “Integrated Photonics for Next Generation Technologies” (INGEN2023) https://ingen2023.epfl.ch/ bringing together leading European groups in this emerging area in the alpine setting of Saanen, Switzerland on July 26-29, 2023. The conference featured invited talks and a poster session. Talks presented a diverse range of topics related to integrated photonics, showcasing their significance in various applications: ion beam technologies, Erbium-doped Si3N4 photonic integrated circuits, novel integrated resonators, microcombs, and photonics-assisted RF beamformers demonstrated efficient implementation for synthetic aperture radar applications, highlighting the benefits of photonics integration for RF systems. The talks underscored the relevance of photonic integrated circuits in fields such as signal processing, communications, LiDARS, and quantum science, revealing their potential to revolutionize various applications. Five of our TeraSlice partners presented key research results and industry relevance of integrated photonics (THALES, LIGENTEC, KIT, CNIT, EPFL).
